Windshield damage is covered under comprehensive insurance, and in a few states (like South Carolina), insurers can waive your deductible entirely for glass claims. Even better, glass claims are typically considered no-fault, meaning they won't raise your premium. We'll verify your coverage upfront so you know exactly what to expect before we start. During your free consultation we'll help you decide whether going through insurance is the best course of action — safety and quality are our top priorities, and we always aim to reduce our customers' out-of-pocket expense in every situation.
Most comprehensive insurance policies cover windshield repair or replacement, often times with $0 out of pocket through the LYNX network. We bill your insurance directly — you just schedule the appointment.
No — and this is important to know. You have the legal right to choose any licensed auto glass shop you want, regardless of what your insurance company suggests. Insurers can recommend a vendor, but they cannot require you to use one.
Insurance companies often steer customers toward their preferred shops because those shops agree to use lower-cost parts to keep claim payouts down. At Queen City Windshield, we always use the highest quality glass and materials available — because the right parts mean a proper fit, a safer seal, and ADAS systems that calibrate correctly.
If your insurance directs you to a specific shop, simply tell them you'd like to use Queen City Windshield instead. We're fully qualified to work with all major carriers through the LYNX network.
Contact us first. We'll guide you through the entire claims process and handle as much of it as we possibly can. Many insurers do require the vehicle owner to file the initial glass claim — if that's the case, we'll walk you through exactly what to say and who to call so it only takes a few minutes. From there we coordinate with your insurance and the LYNX network, confirm your coverage, and get you scheduled — often the same day or next day.
Yes — we're fully mobile. We come to your home, office, or wherever is most convenient. We serve Fort Mill SC, Waxhaw NC, South Charlotte, and surrounding areas.
The time required ultimately depends on the vehicle, its condition, and the work required, but on average you can expect 1–2 hours on-site. Cure time depends on the urethane used — which is often determined by the vehicle manufacturer and insurance requirements — but we'll always work with you to get you safely back on the road as quickly as possible.
Chips smaller than a quarter and cracks shorter than 6 inches can typically be repaired. Damage near the edges, in the driver's line of sight, or longer than 6 inches usually requires full replacement. We'll assess it honestly when we arrive.
ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) includes safety features like lane departure warning, automatic emergency braking, and adaptive cruise control that rely on a camera mounted to your windshield. If your vehicle has these features, recalibration is required after replacement to keep them accurate.
